Originating enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting journey! The Brač Open Championship 2025 will take place from 3rd to 5th October 2025 at the beautiful location of Vidova Gora, Gožul, near the picturesque Postira. This is a unique opportunity to compete and explore the natural beauty of the island of Brač, regardless of your level of experience.
About the event
The Brač Open Championship is not just a competition; it is a combination of sport, adventure and nature. Vidova Gora, as the highest point on the island of Brač with an altitude of 778 meters, offers the perfect backdrop. Expect to face challenging courses while improving your skills. Previous events have attracted more than 200 participants annually, and this year the number is expected to grow.
Over the course of three days, the competition will cover different levels, from beginners to experienced runners. This is an opportunity to connect with other orienteering enthusiasts, exchange experiences and make new friends. At the last championship, 85% of participants said they had fun and made new friends.

Vidova gora is a must-see for all visitors to Brač. This spectacular location not only offers magnificent views of the surrounding areas, but also a variety of trails waiting to be explored. For example, the trail to the viewpoint offers incredible views of the sea and neighboring islands such as Hvar. Interestingly, beginners, with our help, can easily find trails that suit them.
Runners will enjoy a variety of terrain challenges, from steep slopes to forested trails. The weather, with an average temperature of 20°C in October, makes this an ideal time to run.

What to bring?
Preparing for an orienteering run involves a few basic items. First, choose comfortable shoes, ideally with good support. Consider layering your clothing to help you adapt to changes in the weather.
Also, don’t forget to pack enough water and simple energy snacks. Statistics show that proper hydration and energy significantly improve a runner’s performance.
Additional tools such as a GPS device or compass will be helpful for navigation. Although the trails are marked, additional resources are always a good idea.
